Krishnagar Government College Alumni Association

 

Krishnagar Government College has a great heritage and it has a well-organized alumni association which is known as ‘Krishnagar Government College Alumni Association’. In its registered form, it started the journey from 2008 bearing the registration no. S/IL/51964 of 2008-09 under W.B. Societies Regulation Act. 1961.  The Association serves as a forum through which alumni supports and helps the institution to achieve the pursuit of academic excellence. Krishnagar Government college alumni include Monomohun Ghosh (first practicing barrister of Indian origin), Dwijendralal Ray (famous poet, musician, playwright), Anil Biswas (secretary of W. B. state communist party), Nihar Ranjan Gupta (famous doctor and Bengali novelist), Satish Chandra Vidyabhusan (Principal of Sanskrit College and scholar of Sanskrit and Pali language) and many more.

Objectives of Alumni Association:

  1. To take steps in promotion, protection, and preservation of the academic interest as well as the properties of the college. 

  2. To prioritize co-curricular activities, cultural, sports, career guidance and social counseling activities among students. 

  3.  To help the college administration to uphold the status and prestige of the Institution.  

  4. To provide a scope for meeting the ex-students and ex-teachers once in a year in the form of re-union/ annual get-together. 

  5. To organize seminars, discussion on current important topics for the benefit of student community including health check-up, environmental awareness etc.

  6. To devote their every effort to the great cause of all-round development of Krishnagar Government College.

Important activities:

  1. Alumni association organizes reunion every year.

  2. Conducted every year an Annual General Body meeting of the Alumni.

  3. Made a successful appeal for declaring Krishnagar Government College as Heritage College.

  4. Distributed leaflet to make common people aware about the maintenance and preservation of the property of the college. 

  5. From the time of its registration Alumni have played an active role in guiding the present students in many ways.
