Krishnagar Government College

The Department of Chemistry, Krishnagar Government College, started its journey in 1873 with the UG General course in Chemistry. However, the UG Honours course in Chemistry was introduced in 1951. The department has evolved over the time and remained committed to academic excellence. Under the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), the department besides offering Honours course in Chemistry, offered Chemistry General course to the students of Physics, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Physiology Honours. From the 2023-24 academic session, the department shall offer Major and Minor courses in Chemistry in accordance with the directives of the University of Kalyani, in compliance with NEP-2020. The department is privileged to have extremely dynamic and dedicated faculty members who have made notable contributions in their own fields.
